Final three matches to tackle

Is the destiny of the title race still in our own hands? No. Will we let that affect our confidence? Absolutely not! We have a clear aim in mind - winning all three of our remaining ADMIRAL Bundesliga matches in order to preserve our chance of retaining the league title. We are just three points behind the leaders, waiting to pounce on any slip-up!

Our boys showed in the second half of their big match against SK Sturm Graz just what they are capable of, battling back from 0-2 down to get a draw (and almost claim a win). That is the kind of mentality we have to show against Rapid over the full 90 minutes in order to claim three points.

The Viennese outfit might have heavy legs on Sunday after being beaten 1-2 by Sturm on Wednesday in the UNIQA ÖFB Cup final.

The defeat for the Green and Whites in the final should motivate them even more to take as many points as they can in their remaining league matches, however, so that they remain in the battle for a European qualifying spot. Rapid coach Robert Klauß said after the cup final in Klagenfurt: "We battled to the very last minute. It was a war of attrition with nothing at all between the teams. We have to get over the defeat, stand up again and take on the next challenges."

In our last match against SK Rapid, we came within a last-minute equaliser of a win, with Marco Grüll converting clinically from the penalty spot. As disappointing as that was, we have a very proud record against Rapid to keep up - 19 Bundesliga matches unbeaten against the Viennese, 15 of which we have won. We will give our all together on Sunday to continue that run!

Views

We are going into the match with a clear situation. We want to take three points at Rapid in order to keep the pressure on Sturm Graz and maintain our title chances. We have to build on the second half of our home match against Sturm for that. We want to keep the tempo and energy towards the opposing goal like we had then.

Clashes against Rapid tend to be intensive and emotional. That makes it even more important that we focus on ourselves and our own performance. We want to create as much pressure as possible, play our intensive style of football and give them barely any time to breathe.
