Sheffield United full-back Rachel Brown has announced the news that she is leaving the club this summer.

The player took to her personal X account to announce her Bramall Lane exit last night.

Brown leaves Sheffield United upon the expiry of her contract with the South Yorkshire club.

Brown has spent the last two seasons with The Blades after joining the club from FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division side Nottingham Forest. The defender went on to make 33 appearances for Sheffield United in the Barclays Women’s Championship in which she scored one goal. Brown was an ever-present for The Blades in league competition in 2023/2024.

Announcing her Sheffield United departure, Brown said “After two seasons with the club, I have decided to leave Sheffield United.

“Just wanted to say a huge thanks to the girls, the staff and the fans for all of their support. We’ve had some great times and made some amazing memories.

“One last time, UTB!”

Brown is the seventh player to leave Sheffield United this summer. Bex Rayner, Sophie Barker, Tara Bourne, Fran Stenson, Charlotte Newsham and Jodie Hutton have also opted to move on during the close season. The club are yet to announce any contract extensions or new additions.
