A free art and agriculture tour grown in York County comes home. Here are the details

What’s grown into an event unlike any other in the country comes home to York County on June 10-11.

More than 30 farms, businesses and other stops in York County will participate in the Ag+Art Tour. It’s the 11th annual event. The tour began just in York County but now combines farms and venues across about a dozen counties. According to Visit York County, there have been more than 85,000 tour visitors since 2012 in what is the nation’s largest free self-guided tour.

This year close to 80 artisans are set to participate.

“People from all over travel to our state to learn more about farming, the arts, and the communities they are in,” said Melanie Cooper with the Arts Council of York County.

The event combines agricultural sites with painters, weavers and a host of other artists. Some farms will host family events like hay rides and farm tours.

Lancaster County held its weekend on the tour in mid-May. Participating sites included Benford Brewing Co., Elliott’s Nursery, Hall Family Farm, Historic Craig Farm, Laurel Haven Estate, Maple Leaf Stables, Rich Hill Farms and The Ivy Place.

Chester County will feature almost a dozen spots in the final weekend of the tour, June 24-25. They include Agribusiness Center, Collins Backyard Garden and Aquaponics, Fishing Creek Creamery, Gaston Farm, Hazelwood Farms, Massey Farms, Watson Farms, Wild Bees Bottle Shop, Wild Hope Farm, The Market at Cotton Hills Farm and The Powell Farm.
