Fred VanVleet credits Kawhi's 'eff-you' shots for Raptors' rally

Kawhi Leonard’s heroics probably don’t need further definition at this point, but he was sensational in Toronto’s 105-92 victory over Golden State in Game 4 of the NBA Finals, and his teammates say he’s the reason why the Raptors turned things around after an ugly first half.

Despite having an awful shooting night from the field, the Raptors trailed the Warriors by four at halftime, and Leonard immediately put his stamp on the game to start the third quarter, much to the delight of Fred VanVleet.

Leonard hit a three, stole the ball from Draymond Green, then drained another triple to start the frame, giving the Raptors their first lead of the game, and he crushed the Warriors to the tune of 36 points, 12 rebounds, four steals, two assists and a block overall.

“Kawhi Leonard came out and hit two big F you shots to start the half. There's no defense for that, there's no schemes for that. That's two big boy shots,” Leonard said, according to TSN’s Josh Lewenberg.

In predictable fashion, Leonard downplayed his own accomplishments.

“I don't play hero basketball... I just play to win,” Leonard said post-game.

This one might be out Leonard’s control, as he’ll certainly get a hero’s welcome upon returning to Toronto for Game 5.
