Frattesi reassuring to Inter fans: ‘I am very happy here’
Davide Frattesi assures he is ‘very happy’ to stay at Inter after finding the net in a 4-0 victory away to Lecce, while Lautaro Martinez is glad the ‘difficult period has passed.’
There was rarely any doubt that the Nerazzurri would emerge with all three points from the Stadio Via del Mare, a seventh consecutive away victory in Serie A.
Marking his first Serie A start for three months, Frattesi took six minutes to open the scoring on a Marcus Thuram assist, then Lautaro Martinez and Denzel Dumfries rounded out the scoreline.
When Frattesi was brought down for a penalty, Inter gave it to substitute Mehdi Taremi, allowing him to score his first ever Serie A goal.
There has been a great deal of speculation around the Italy international midfielder, who was linked with a potential move to his hometown club Roma, leaders Napoli or even abroad towards the Premier League.
Frattesi silences Inter exit speculation
Speaking after the final whistle in Lecce, he was asked specifically about his future and if he had a message for the Inter fans.
“I am very happy to be here, I am part of the family and try to repay them however I can,” assured Frattesi on Sky Sport Italia.
Lautaro Martinez had a goal drought lasting a couple of months that raised eyebrows, but not for the first time, he has followed that up with a string of prolific performances.
This was the fourth consecutive match that had the Inter captain on the scoresheet.
“I work every day to try to help the team. That difficult period has passed, I try to give my best, do what the coach asks and what we prepare during the week. The most important thing is that Inter get three points,” added Lautaro Martinez.
