Frattesi: Inter’s asking price makes January exit unlikely
Inter midfielder Davide Frattesi is frustrated about the lack of playing time at the San Siro and looks willing to leave the club, but the Nerazzurri’s heavy investment in him just one and half years ago could complicate his exit in the short term.
According to recent reports, the Italy international is lamenting the few opportunities coach Simone Inzaghi has been giving him since his arrival in the summer of 2023, especially this season, when the former Sassuolo man only started four of his side’s 17 Serie A games.
With his playing chances hindered by the presence of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Nicolò Barella, who are Inter’s undisputed starters, the 25-year-old’s frustration grew to the point that he’s reportedly seeking an exit, with his former side Roma among the interested clubs.
Inter set high price tag on Frattesi
However, Calciomercato.com points out that the Biscione spent €33m, excluding bonuses, to sign Frattesi from Sassuolo in 2023, a figure that now forces them to set a particularly high price tag for the Italian, one that the Giallorossi are unlikely to meet, at least in January.
Gianluca Di Marzio suggested the Nerazzurri ask at least €45m to sell the midfielder, which is why Roma could only consider opening talks next summer, especially in case they decide to part ways with Lorenzo Pellegrini.
A lucrative offer from other clubs is the only event that could change such a scenario, but Tottenham, who were recently said to be also interested in the player, haven’t yet made any official offer.
