Frankie Edgar vs. Cub Swanson to Headline UFC Fight Night Austin

A featherweight bout between Frankie Edgar and Cub Swanson will headline UFC Fight Night Austin this fall, according to a report on Wednesday evening.

“UFC Tonight” reported during their broadcast that the 145-pound bout will be the featured fight on the Nov. 22 card at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas.

Edgar (17-4-1), a former UFC lightweight champion, is on a mission to get back to featherweight-title contention and a shot at the the title currently held by Jose Aldo. In his last outing, Edgar dispatched former two-division UFC champion B.J. Penn with a third-round technical knockout last July.

He entered the division after a drop from lightweight and got an immediate title shot against Aldo, but Edgar came up short against Aldo at UFC 156.

Swanson (21-5) hasn't tasted defeat since 2011 and is currently on a six-fight win streak. Four out of Swanson's last six wins have come by either knockout or TKO. In his most recent fight, Swanson dominated Jeremy Stephens for 25 minutes in the main event at a UFC Fight Night card last June.

Also revealed for the UFC Fight Night card was a co-main event between Bobby Green (23-5) and Edson Barboza (14-2). Both fighters come into the Austin card off wins, with Green winning eight in a row and keeping a perfect record inside the Octagon.

Other fights for the card include Joseph Benavidez (20-4) vs. Dustin Ortiz (14-3) and Matt Wiman (15-7) vs. Isaac Vallie-Flagg (14-5-1).
