Fantasy Premier League managers will be able to add an assistant manager from gameweek 24 in January.

The new assistant manager chip - previously known as the mystery chip - allows players to earn points from one of the 20 Premier League managers based on their side's wins, draws, goals and clean sheets across three gameweeks.

Assistant managers will get six points for each win, three for a draw, two for a clean sheet and one point for every goal.

A boss who faces a club ranked at least five places higher in the Premier League table gets an extra 10 points for a win and an additional five points for a draw.

Once the chip is activated, choosing an assistant manager does not cost a free transfer. But if you want to change your manager during the three-gameweek run it will cost a transfer the same way as players do.

Fantasy players can only play one chip in a gameweek, so a manager cannot be triple captained.

If a manager leaves their club, players will still score based on the original club's performance.
