Four wingers on Milan watchlist after Conceicao appointment
Milan are beginning work to supply new head coach Francisco Conceicao with more attacking options for the remainder of the 2024-25 season, and four names have already been linked with moves to San Siro in the Italian press.
Gazzetta: Four wingers on Milan’s January watchlist
According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, one of the main candidates is Francisco Conceicao of Sporting CP.
Though he has already scored six and provided 11 assists in Portugal this term, he is expected to be available for a price in the region of €25m. An additional bonus is that the player shares the same agent as Conceicao: Jorge Mendes.
Another option from Portugal is 27-year-old Pepe, who knows Conceicao well from their time together at Porto. Pepe is a Brazil international, but also holds an Italian passport, which helps Milan as they do not currently have an available slot in their squad for a non-EU player.
Versatility is also an advantage with Pepe, as he is capable of playing in all positions across the front three, as well as at right wing-back.
La Gazzetta dello Sport have also mentioned two other wingers who could be of interest to Milan this month, but they are not currently as likely as the two aforementioned options.
They are Jamie Leweling of Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart and Maghnes Akliouche from AS Moncao.
