Stone has represented Canada at U'17s, World Juniors and at the World Championship. The 32-year-old was enjoying his best offensive start to the season before he went down with an injury. The Golden Knights captain will relied upon offensively, but where his game will shine will be defensively.
Stone's ability to kill penalties and shut down the opponent's best players will be a valued asset in a tournament filled with the world's best players. He's a Stanley Cup champion captain that will be instrumental to Canada's success.

Pietrangelo won gold with Canada at the Olympics in 2014, the World Junior's in 2009 and the World Cup of hockey in 2016. The two-time Stanley Cup champion is a stable defender on the back end who's as qualified as any defenseman in the NHL to play against the world's best forwards.
At 34 years old, he's a veteran leader with experience in any situation that Canada could face.
Theodore is one of the premiere offensive-defensemen in the NHL who's a bit undervalued defensively. The 29-year-old is no stranger to Canada hockey, representing Canada at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup, U-18s, World Juniors and the World Championship.
He can quarterback a power play unit if needed and will be relied upon to be a puck mover against the quick forwards on Team USA, Sweden and Finland.

Before joining the Golden Knights, Hill wouldn't have been within the top 25 goaltenders considered to be in between the pipes for Canada, but after a dominant Stanley Cup run and consistency since joining the club, Hill has the opportunity to not just say he played for Canada but to take the starting role. Competing with Jordan Binnington, whichever goaltender is playing better at the time will likely get the crease.
Canada has elected to roster veteran players with championship pedigree, leaving some of the young, skilled players fans were expecting at home.
