Yahoo Sports Four Britons in doubles wins amid rain disruption
Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool were among four Britons to progress in the doubles draws on a rain-affected day at Wimbledon.
World number 39 Cash and American partner Robert Galloway won 7-6 (8-6) 6-3 in the first round of the men's doubles against France's Theo Arribage and New Zealander Marcus Daniell.
Glasspool, who is ranked 45th in the world, and Dutch partner Jean-Julien Rojer beat South Americans Guido Andreozzi and Miguel Reyes-Varela 6-0 6-3.
Meanwhile, Britain's Henry Patten reached the third round with partner Harri Heliovaara with a 7-6 (7-5) 6-3 win over Spaniards Pedro Martinez and Jaume Munar.
Olivia Nicholls made it to the third round of the women's doubles with a 6-2 6-0 victory alongside Slovakian Tereza Mihalikova, beating Poland's Magda Linette and Peyton Stearns of the United States.
After the rain set in, Charles Broom and Arthur Fery's men's doubles match was suspended after the British pair had won the first set 6-4, while Eden Silva and Samantha Murray Sharan were trailing eighth seeds Barbora Krejcikova and Laura Siegemund 7-6 (7-1) 5-4.
Glasspool and Harriet Dart did not make it on to court for their mixed doubles opener, nor did Marcus Willis and Alicia Barnett, and Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski with their respective partners.
