FC Barcelona are all set to fly out to Saudi Arabia today as they take on Athletic Club in the Spanish Super Cup semi-finals on Wednesday.

Heading into the game on the back of a thumping win over UD Barbastro in the Copa del Rey, confidence will be high in the Barça camp, despite the tension due to the non-registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor.

And, Hansi Flick & co. are set to be greeted with more welcome news on the injury front before they take on Ernesto Valverde’s men this week.

Four players to be cleared

Indeed, according to Javi Miguel, as many as four injured Barcelona stars will receive their medical clearance in time to face Athletic Club this week.

The four stars in question are Lamine Yamal, Andreas Christensen, Hector Fort, and Ferran Torres, all of whom will fly to Saudi Arabia and will be available to take on the Basque outfit in the semi-finals.

Christensen has been out injured since late August but has resumed training in recent weeks, although a return to the squad has yet to materialise for the Dane.

As for Lamine, he missed the last game before the mid-season break due to an ankle injury but has recovered fully, although he was not called up against Barbastro by Flick.

Fort also returned to training last week after being out of action as he was dealing with muscular discomfort.

As for Ferran, he suffered a soleus injury during the Atletico Madrid game before the Christmas break and missed last week’s cup tie as a result.

All players have recovered from their injury ordeals and will be given the all-clear by the medical department in time to face Athletic Club later this week, which will come as a boost for Hansi Flick.
