Former Wild Prospect Back In Liiga After Being Let Go From Iowa
After playing two seasons in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Iowa Wild, Simon Johansson is back in the Liiga with Ilves.
Johansson, 25, played 136 games in the AHL with the Iowa Wild he recorded 11 goals and 35 points.
The 6-foot-2 defenseman played one season for Ilves before he came over to the Wild. He had eight goals, 24 assists, and 32 points in 58 games for Ilves in 2021-22.
He is off to a great start in the Liiga this year with five goals, two assists, and seven points in nine games.
