Former Lightning Superstar Is Dominating The NHL Again

During this past off-season, Steven Stamkos' legendary run with the Tampa Bay Lightning came to an end. After hitting the free-agent market, the 34-year-old forward landed a four-year, $32 million contract with the Nashville Predators.

Much like the Predators as a collective unit, Stamkos had a rough start to the 2024-25 season. In his first 28 games with the Predators, he had just 13 points. When noting that Stamkos had 40 goals and 81 points in 79 games just last season with the Bolts, this kind of start was below expectations for the 2008 first-overall pick.

However, it is fair to say that Stamkos has since broken through his early-season slump, as he is back to dominating again. Over his last 10 games, the 6-foot-1 forward has four goals and 10 points. Due to his hot stretch of play, he now has 11 goals and 23 points in 38 games. This is a notable step in the right direction.

Seeing Stamkos starting to thrive again is not surprising in the slightest. He is one of the game's most talented players, and he is making that abundantly clear again. It will be very interesting to see what the Lightning legend does with the Predators from here.
