Former Flyers Star Is Prime Trade Candidate
Former Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Ivan Provorov is a clear player to watch as we get closer to the 2025 NHL trade deadline. While the Columbus Blue Jackets are currently in the Eastern Conference wild-card race, Provorov is still creating chatter in the rumor mill because he is in the final season of his deal on a rebuilding Columbus club.

There should be a plethora of interest in Provorov's services as we continue to charge toward March. This is because he is a solid top-four defenseman who contributes offensively, can play on either side, and works on both the power play and the penalty kill. Thus, he would be a massive addition for any contender looking to boost their blueline.
Provorov is quietly having a solid season with the Blue Jackets in 2024-25, too. In 44 games, the 6-foot-1 defenseman has three goals, 19 points, 62 blocks, and a plus-3 rating. As a result of this and teams always looking for defensive help before the playoffs, he has plenty of value. It will be interesting to see if the Blue Jackets take advantage of that and move him before the deadline.
