Former Devils Star Named Top Trade Candidate
NHL insider Chris Johnston has released his latest trade board for The Athletic. Among the players on Johnston's list is former New Jersey Devils star forward Taylor Hall.
It is understandable that Johnston views Hall as one of the NHL's top trade candidates. The 2010 first-overall pick is currently in the final season of his contract, and the Blackhawks are among the worst teams in the NHL. Thus, the veteran winger is standing out as a prime rental candidate for playoff clubs to consider.
Hall has had mixed results early on this season with the Blackhawks, posting seven goals, 14 points, and a minus-10 rating in 30 games thus far. Yet, he has also been showing signs of bouncing back, recording two goals and four points over his last four contests.
Hall memorably had an outstanding four-year stint with the Devils. In 211 games with New Jersey, he had 76 goals, 132 assists, and 208 points. He also won the Hart Memorial Trophy in 2017-18 with the Devils, posting 39 goals and 93 points in 76 games.
Nevertheless, it will be fascinating to see what happens with former Devil, but there is no question that he should generate interest as we get closer to the deadline.
