Former Devils Forward Hangs Up The Skates

Former New Jersey Devils forward Damien Brunner has retired from professional hockey. The announcement was made by EHC Biel of the Swiss National League, the team Brunner played for this season.

Brunner was limited to just six games this season due to injury, where he had zero points. The Zurich, Switzerland native spent each of his final seven seasons with EHC Biel.

Brunner played two seasons with the Devils, where he had 13 goals and 32 points in 77 games. His time with the Devils ended after he and the Devils mutually agreed to terminate his contract during the early stages of the 2014-15 season. This was after the Devils placed him on both regular and then unconditional waivers, where he went unclaimed. He soon signed a five-year deal to join HC Lugano of the Swiss League once his contract with the Devils was officially terminated.
