Former Devils Defender Hits Massive Milestone

Former New Jersey Devils defenseman Dmitry Kulikov has hit a massive milestone, as he played in his 1000th career NHL game on Jan. 29. The 34-year-old defenseman also made an impact during it, as he recorded an assist and a plus-1 rating in the Florida Panthers' 3-0 win over the Los Angeles Kings.

Kulikov is currently in his 16th NHL season, and he is still a solid shutdown defender. In 52 games this season with the Panthers, the 6-foot-1 blueliner has three goals, 11 points, 90 hits, and a plus-7 rating. This is after he had one goal and 20 points in 76 games last season with the Cats.

Kulikov appeared in 38 games for the Devils during the 2020-21 season, where he had two assists, 39 blocks, and 72 hits. His time in New Jersey ended when he was a fourth-round pick later that campaign.
