DEG sports director Niki Mondt said in a team statement: "I am very pleased to have found the last piece of the puzzle for our squad in Tyler Angle. He is young, fast, and ambitious and can be used in a variety of ways. Tyler has a lot of potential and, given his age, a lot of experience."

Angle only played four games for the Blue Jackets since being drafted, playing in a pair of games in each of the last two seasons. He had one career point.

He spent most of his time playing in the AHL for the Cleveland Monsters. In 200 career games, he had 41 goals and 100 points. In 9 career playoff games, he had 3 points.

He joins fellow former Monster Justin Richards, who also signed with Dusseldorfer EG on August 10th.
