Wagner, 33, has played in 22 games this season with the Avalanche, where he has one goal, 46 hits, and a minus-7 rating. He has also played in five games in the AHL this season with the Colorado Eagles, scoring one goal.
Teams looking for a depth forward who provides energy and toughness could consider claiming Wagner. He also carries an easily affordable $775,000 cap hit. However, if he clears waivers, he will rejoin the Eagles.
Wagner played five seasons with the Bruins, where he became a fan favorite because of his work ethic and tenacious style of play. In 186 games as a Bruin, he had 20 goals, 34 points, and 531 hits.
