Former Blue Jackets Forward Alex Nylander Signs Deal With The Toronto Maple Leafs

Former Columbus Blue Jackets forward Alex Nylander will get a chance to play with his brother William.

It's been reported that Alex has signed a deal with the Toronto Maple Leafs for one year, worth a prorated $775,000.

Nylander has been playing for the Toronto Marlies of the AHL this season. He has played in 14 games and has 12 points.

Last season after his trade to Columbus, he scored 11 goals and totaled 15 points.

New Columbus GM Don Waddell passed on re-signing the young forward and let him walk in restricted free agency.

Now Alex and William will get a chance to play with one another in the NHL, which is probably a big deal for the brothers. The Maple Leafs have been crushed by injuries to their forward group this year, so hopefully Nylander can help them.

What's Next - The Blue Jackets are back home on Saturday to play the red-hot Carolina Hurricanes.
