Former Blue Jacket Brandon Saad Lights Up The Ottawa Senators Ahead Of Matchup With Columbus

In a game that featured former Blue Jackets former Anton Forsberg for Ottawa, Alex Texier, and Brandon Saad, it was Saad that stood out on Friday night.

The veteran forward who played 160 games for Columbus had an unreal night for St. Louis, just one night before the Blues are set to visit the Blue Jackets on Saturday night.

Saad recorded a natural hat trick for the Blues against the Ottawa Senators and scored all three of them against another former Jacket Anton Forsberg. The goals were Saad's 5th, 6th, and 7th of the season. The goals were Saad's first since November 14th, and his first points since December 3rd.

The Blues beat the Senators 4-0.

Brandon Saad scored 55 goals and totaled 106 points during his two seasons in Columbus. Saad was traded back to Chicago on June 23, 2017, alongside the goalie he just scored a hat trick on, Anton Forsberg, in exchange for Artemi Panarin and Tyler Motte.

The Blue Jackets will be looking to get back on track against visiting St. Louis and to slow down Saad.

What's Next - The Jackets return home on Saturday to play the St. Louis Blues.
