Former Barcelona midfielder Paulinho recently reflected on his time with the club, expressing that despite playing for the Blaugrana for a solitary season, the experience felt much longer.

Paulinho was seen among the VIPs at the Lluis Companys stadium, attending Barcelona’s clash with Young Boys. In a heartfelt conversation with Movistar+, he shared insights about his stint at the club and his thoughts on various football topics.

It must be noted that Paulinho’s signing was met with scepticism, as some questioned his fit with Barcelona’s playing style. However, the Brazilian midfielder quickly won over the fans with his goal-scoring prowess and dynamic performances.

“I played for one season, but it seems like 10,” he was quoted by SPORT.

Recently, Paulinho revealed that he had officially retired from professional football, stepping away from the pitch just a month ago.

“I have just retired, just a month ago. I like football management. I have come to learn. I still don’t know what I will do in the future.”

During the interview, Paulinho also shared his admiration for his fellow Brazilian, Raphinha, currently playing for Barcelona. He praised Raphinha’s recent performances, wishing him continued success on the field.

“I see him doing very well, he is having some good matches. I hope he has a good match and scores two goals.”

Additionally, Paulinho commented on the club’s new goalkeeper, Wojciech Szczesny, expressing confidence that he will be warmly welcomed and will find success at Barcelona.

“He will be welcomed and he can be sure that he is in a great team,” he concluded.
