Former Al-Nassr player reveals imminent Manchester City to Saudi Pro League transfer

Manchester City could be on the verge of a major exit from their first-team squad, according to one former Al-Nassr player, as relayed by a journalist this week.

The ongoing summer transfer window has been rife with speculation over the future of first-choice goalkeeper Ederson, amid growing interest from Saudi Arabia in the hope that the Brazilian could be their next major scoop from Europe.

From the side of the 30-year-old shot-stopper, there is some encouragement that he could be open to the idea of a fresh challenge away from Manchester City and a club where he has won everything available to win since his arrival in 2017.

Simultaneously, Manchester City have taken steps towards covering their goalkeeping future for the immediate season by tying down impressive number two choice Stefan Ortega to a fresh contract extension until the summer of 2026.

But that will no doubt not stop the concern over life at Manchester City without Ederson amongst the club’s supporter base, with the latest rumours and reports indicating an agreement involving the Brazil international is now close to completion.

That is according to the information of journalist Sam C on X, who reveals that every Saudi Arabian club will know their budget for the ongoing summer transfer window either today or tomorrow.

It is further revealed that the latest rumours emanating from a former Al-Nassr player is that Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson is now ‘close’ to joining the Saudi Pro League in an agreement that will see him earn £1 million-per-week.

At present, it remains unknown as to who Manchester City could concretely turn to in the event of requiring a new goalkeeping signing this summer, whether that be a new number one or back-up to Stefan Ortega.

Report on Wednesday pointed supporters in the direction of Brazil under-23 international Mycael, who is claimed to have admirers at Manchester City over the prospect of making the 20-year-old the club’s new number two.

Other reports have linked Etihad Stadium transfer officials with more ambitious moves for the likes of AC Milan’s Mike Maignan, as well as FC Porto’s Diogo Costa, both of whom could be considered if Manchester City bosses eye a new number one.
