Manchester City’s summer transfer business may intensify in the coming days with the arrival of one of football’s biggest names in the agent industry.

The Premier League champions completed their first big-money arrival this week with the formal announcement of Brazil international Savinho becoming the latest member of Pep Guardiola’s star-studded squad.

The 20-year-old joins Manchester City from fellow City Group side Troyes in a deal understood to be worth up to £33.6 million when factoring in potential add-ons negotiated into the arrangement with the sister club.

But while there is still expected to be business into the Etihad Stadium this summer, particularly in central midfield roles, much of the additional activity is likely to hinge on potential outgoings from the Manchester City squad.

And as such, that theory now coincides with the impending arrival of one of football’s most prominent figures to the Etihad Stadium offices, with the representative being heavily involved in the futures of a number of City athletes.

According to the information of Manchester City insider ‘Tolmie’s Hairdoo’ on X, football super agent Jorges Mendes will now focus his attentions on business with the Premier League champions from this weekend.

It is explained that the Portuguese agent – who represents the likes of Ederson, Bernardo Silva, and Matheus Nunes at Manchester City – has been brokering transfers into Manchester United over the last 48 hours.

Ederson has been strongly linked with a Manchester City exit throughout the ongoing summer market, with Saudi Arabia understood to be his hottest suitors. However, with Al-Nassr securing Brazilian goalkeeper Bento instead, a deal may now be off the table.

As for Bernardo Silva, the Portuguese playmaker who remains on holiday after his European Championships involvement, is slowly coming to terms with the strong possibility of an extended Manchester City stay, despite a £50 million release clause in his contract.

The 29-year-old has long been linked with an intention to leave the Etihad Stadium for a move closer to home and family and friends, however his priority club FC Barcelona have been unable to finance a package both for the player and Manchester City.

At present, it remains unknown as to what the nature of Jorge Mendes’ visit to Manchester City is, and there remains a possibility that the agent could be negotiating transfers into the Etihad Stadium for one of his many clients.
