Football Fans Have A Lot to Say After New Monday Night Football Theme Song Airs

The new football season has already brought with it some surprises, and not just on the field. Carrie Underwood returned with her Sunday night NFL staple, but there are some new songs that have fans excited. Lainey Wilson teamed up with Darius Rucker and The Cadillac Three for the new College Gameday theme, and Fall Out Boy brought new energy to NBC with "Here Comes Saturday Night." But an unlikely duo has stolen the show with a brand-new collaboration.

ESPN debuted their new Monday Night Football theme song, and it pairs Chris Stapleton and Snoop Dogg for an epic rendition of Phil Collins's 1981 banger "In the Air Tonight." And the incredible drum solo is performed by world renowned-musician (and wife of Carlos Santana) Cindy Blackman Santana.

ESPN shared a clip from the new anthem on their Instagram feed and were flooded with comments from fans.

  • "He could sing the cooking directions on the back of a box of Stove Top and it would be a banger."

  • "Snoop Dog and Chris Stapleton collab on Phil Collins…wild but beautiful"

  • "did not have Snoop & Chris Stapleton collab on my bingo card for 2023 but here we are and i’m not mad"

  • "Chris Stapleton and Snoop is exactly what I need!"

  • "You need to do the half time show at the Superbowl this year!!!"

Stapleton and Snoop both have experience at The Big Game (we still haven't recovered from last year's National Anthem). We agree that they'd make an incredible duo for Super Bowl LVIII!
