Folorunsho ‘very happy’ at Fiorentina move from Napoli
Napoli and Italy midfielder Michael Folorunsho assured he is ‘very happy’ after arriving to complete his potential €10m transfer to Fiorentina.
The player was greeted by fans and reporters at the train station this evening.
“I am very happy,” he told Sky Sport Italia before getting into a car with his new employers to visit the Viola Park and undergo a medical.
According to Sportitalia, this is a six-month loan at a cost of €1m, plus there is an option to buy at the end of the season for €8m and another €1m in performance-related add-ons.
Although he impressed enough during a loan spell at Hellas Verona last season to earn himself a place in the Italy squad for the EURO 2024 tournament, Folorunsho struggled to make his mark at Napoli under Antonio Conte.
He made a total of seven appearances between Serie A and the Coppa Italia, but with only 103 minutes of football.
Lazio had been eager to sign him in the summer, as he is originally a product of their youth academy and a lifelong supporter of the club.
Folorunsho turns 27 next month and has two senior caps for Italy.
