Phil Foden has been nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month award for January.

The England international enjoyed a stellar month for City with his impact felt both at home and away.

All told, our Academy graduate weighed in with six goals – more than anyone else in the Premier League - as City chalked up three wins and a draw from our four league clashes.

The 24-year-old began the month by rounding off the scoring in a 4-1 Etihad triumph over West Ham.

He then followed that up by bagging back-to-back braces in a 2-2 draw away at Brentford and a superb 6-0 triumph at Ipswich.

Foden then rounded off a month to remember by striking to seal City’s 3-1 home win against Chelsea to also register goals in four successive Premier League games for the very first time.

Our playmaker is up against Cody Gakpo of Liverpool, Bournemouth duo Patrick Kluivert and Dean Huijsen, Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, Bryan Mbeumo of Brentford and Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta.

Voting for the award closes at 12pm (UK) on Monday, February 3 with the winner being announced on Friday, February 7.
