Poehling's last appearance was on Jan. 16, when the Flyers played the New York Islanders. He left the contest injured after Islanders forward Maxim Tsyplakov hit him in the head, which resulted in the latter's three-game suspension.

Poehling has appeared in 43 games this season with the Flyers, where he has four goals and 15 points.
Abols, on the other hand, signed with the Flyers this past off-season after spending each of the previous four seasons in the Swedish Hockey League. In 34 games this season with the Phantoms, he has nine goals and 19 points.
Abols was selected by the Vancouver Canucks with the 184th overall pick of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft but never played a game for them. The 29-year-old forward could now get the chance to make his NHL debut with the Flyers, which would make for a great story.
