Flyers Partner With PSPCA To Help Puppies Find 'Forever Homes'

The Philadelphia Flyers have teamed up with the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PSPCA) to help nine abandoned Great Pyrenees puppies find permanent homes.

On Wednesday's episode of Hockey & Hounds, John Tortorella's podcast series in which he discusses the Flyers along with featuring a dog on each episode in the hopes of finding a home for them, the featured canines were a litter of nine puppies that had been found in Lower Merion Park just before the holidays.

The PSPCA was able to rescue the pups, and even named them all after Flyers players: Coots (after captain Sean Couturier), Catesy (after forward Noah Cates), Sanny (after defenseman Travis Sanheim), Laughts (after forward Scott Laughton), Hath (after forward Garnet Hathaway), Seels (after defenseman Nick Seeler), TK (after forward Travis Konecny), Mich (after forward Matvei Michkov), and Ers (after goaltender Sam Ersson).

The puppies got to meet and play with their namesakes in the team's locker room at the Flyers Training Center earlier in the month, and of course, the content did not disappoint.

Fans attending the Flyers' game against the New Jersey Devils on Jan. 27 will have the opportunity to meet the puppies on the Wells Fargo Center concourse. The puppies will officially be up for adoption at the PSPCA in North Philadelphia on Jan. 28.
