Flyers Forward Fined For Cross-Checking
NHL Player Safety has fined Philadelphia Flyers forward Scott Laughton $5,000 for cross-checking New York Islanders forward Maxim Tsyplakov. This is the maximum allowable fine under the CBA.

Laughton's cross-check occurred at the 15:30 mark of the third period. The Flyers forward was given a two-minute minor for cross-checking on the play.
During the first period of the matchup, Tsyplakov injured Flyers forward Ryan Poehling with a high hit. The Islanders forward did not receive a penalty on the play. However, he does have a hearing today with NHL Player Safety for an illegal check to the head.
Laughton, 30, has appeared in 46 games this season with the Flyers, where he has nine goals, 14 assists, and 104 hits.
