Fly-half Bazalgette joins Bristol on loan

Bristol have signed fly-half Harry Bazalgette on a short-term loan from Championship side Hartpury RFC.

The 26-year-old, who is the top points scorer in the second tier, joins the squad following a raft of injuries at number 10 within the Bears squad.

On-loan Harry Byrne is currently the club's only available fly-half after injuries to AJ MacGinty, Max Malins, James Williams and Sam Worsley.

"It was important for us to bring in some cover during this next block, with the [friendly] game against Queensland Reds on Friday night and the three Premiership Cup fixtures," said director of rugby Pat Lam.

"Harry is a player who has performed consistently well for Hartpury in the Championship and he's excited by the opportunity to join the Bears."

Bazalgette joined Hartpury from Cornish Pirates in 2023 and also finished as the Championship's leading points scorer in 2023-24.
