Florida Panthers Recall Tobias Bjornfot From Charlotte
The Florida Panthers have recalled defenseman Tobias Bjornfot from the Charlotte Checkers, it was announced Sunday.
Bjornfot, a 2019 first round pick of the Los Angeles Kings, has spent the entire season to this point with the Checkers, collecting two goals and nine assists for 11 points in 27 games.
Since coming over to North America in 2019-20, Bjornfot has suited up for the Kings, the Panthers and the Vegas Golden Knights. Over 120 career NHL regular season games, he has scored one goal and added 14 assists for 15 points. When in the AHL, Bjornfot has collected 42 points in 136 career games.
As Bjornfot gets recalled to the Panthers, he will have the opportunity to get into his second career game with the team. Having played one game with the team last season, Bjornfot has provided solid depth in the Panthers system and can still step up and provide value when called upon.
