FC Barcelona’s sloppy run of form continued as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Celta Vigo on Saturday. This is twice in a row Barça have failed to gain all three points in La Liga this season.

Needless to say, the result did not impress coach Hansi Flick, who called spade for spade in the dressing room. He echoed similar sentiments in public.

Flick’s takeaways from the draw to Celta

According to Diario SPORT, Flick’s biggest takeaway from the draw to Celta Vigo is that players have slacked too much.

The German believes some players have relaxed too much and cannot continue to win if they fail to give their 100% in every match.

Flick also believes that Barcelona’s dip in form is not solely due to individual performances. He has concluded that the team has also lacked the mentality and discipline.

Moreover, the coach has observed that teams are starting to find it easier to break Barcelona’s high defensive line.

Flick demands an immediate reaction

Keeping all these factors in mind, Flick wants an immediate reaction from the team as they gear up for a crucial Champions League game against Brest this midweek.

The German tactician will not settle for anything less than three points against the French outfit, failing which could put Barça in a spot of bother as they look to qualify in the top eight.

The Catalans have secured three wins in four matches so far. Securing wins against Brest and Borussia Dortmund will go a long way in solidifying their position in the top eight.

Simply put, Flick is determined to change Barcelona’s fortunes and will not settle for mediocrity. The coming matches, therefore, could prove to be critical, as the German looks to drive Barça out of this poor run.
