Which Flames Are Red Hot Ahead Of Home Stand?

The Calgary Flames got out to a hot start to begin the 2024-25 season. The team has been able to stick in a playoff position for much of the year, despite many outside the room having few expectations of them.

Thanks in part to a rough road trip to end the month of November, they now find themselves on the outside looking in. However, despite the teams recent struggles, a few Flames players have been on fire lately.

After Tuesday's matchup against the Nashville Predators, Jonathan Huberdeau added to his point streak, bringing him up to seven points in his last five games. In that span, Huberdeau has scored three goals and added four helpers. That's good for the longest streak of any Flames player so far this season.

Another red-hot Flames forward is Nazem Kadri, who scored the first goal for his team on Tuesday and helped end an eight-game road losing streak for Calgary.

In his last six games, Kadri has registered three goals and six points. There was only one helper on his goal against the Predators, and it went to Huberdeau. Those two have been solid skating on a line together recently, and have helped each other extend their streaks.

One final sneaky hot Flames player who's loving December so far is Connor Zary. In his last three games, he registered a goal and two helpers to start a three-game point streak of his own. Two of those points were on the man advantage, so while his five-on-five production is still low, he's helped ignite a stagnant powerplay that's now hovering around the middle of the league.

For any fantasy hockey players, Zary was also able to register three shots on goal in each game of his point streak. That's nearly a shot per game higher than his average so far this year.

While many people didn't expect a playoff push for the Flames this season, some fans hoped for a good fight. So far this year, they're seeing some of the top veteran players scrap for wins.

The Flames are going to need every player to do their part to keep give them a chance at a wildcard spot or better. The odds definitely improve If their best players can continue to be consistent and stretch these streaks.
