Flames Players Still Chasing Milestones In 2025

The Calgary Flames have 43 games left in their 2024-25 season. During the team's first 39 games, fans celebrated several milestones, like Mikael Backlund's 1,000th and Connor Zary's 100th games. More players will have opportunities to reach personal milestones in the coming months.

Let's look at who they are and what statistics they are chasing.

Jonathan Huberdeau - 900 Games

With his next point, Jonathan Huberdeau will reach career point 750. Meanwhile, at 241 goals, he's just nine shy of 250. However, the next significant milestone for the 31-year-old is 900 games, just 30 games away.

Nazem Kadri - 300 Goals

In his 16th season, Nazem Kadri is still chasing a couple of milestones. Although he won't skate in his 1,000th game until next season, he's currently 30 points shy of 700 and only 14 goals away from scoring his 300th goal. Additionally, he's 16 helpers away from 400 assists.

Blake Coleman - 600 Games

Blake Coleman needs to play only 19 more games to reach 600 in his career, and with six more goals, he will tally his 150th. Even though it's a long shot that he gets 24 more assists or 30 points, next year will also be a ceremonious campaign for the 33-year-old.

Mikael Backlund - Passing Hall of Famers

Captain Mikael Backlund is on pace to skate his 1,050th game, inching close to Jarome Iginla's record of 1,219. However, he's got a chance to surpass a couple of Hall of Famers with seven more goals.

At 208 career goals, he needs two more to pass Johnny Gaudreau (210), four to pass Sean Monahan (212), five to pass Al MacInnis (213), and seven to pass Lanny McDonald (215) for sixth place all-time in Flames history.

Moreover, with 13 more points, Backlund will surpass Kent Nilsson (562) and Gary Suter (564) and sit in sixth place alone.

Rasmus Andersson - 500 Games

Rasmus Andersson may not score his 50th this season—he needs eight more—but he's a lock to skate in his 500th game, which should occur before the end of January since he's only six away.

MacKenzie Weegar - 250 Points

Veteran MacKenzie Weegar is in his ninth NHL season. If he plays all 82 games like last season, he will surpass 550 in his career since he needs 42. Meanwhile, with 26 more points, he'll reach the 250-point milestone.

Kevin Rooney - 300 Games

Kevin Rooney has taken the long road to 300 games, but at 291, he's only nine games away from 300, a decent milestone to hit for an undrafted center.

Ryan Lomberg - 300 Games

As the Flames spark plug on and off the ice, it's gonna be a special night when Ryan Lomberg celebrates his 300th game. Additionally, when the 30-year-old scores his next goal, it will be the 30th of his career.

Andrei Kuzmenko - 200 Games

The Flames have 43 games left, and Andrei Kuzmenko needs to only skate in 17 to reach 200. If he can get into the lineup and go on a heater, there's a chance he will collect 20 points over the remainder of the season and reach 150 career points.

Yegor Sharangovich - 100 Goals

It's been a long season for former 30-goal scorer Yegor Sharangovich, but he's only ten more lamplighters away from his 100th career goal. If he can turn a page in the second half and net 24 more points, he'd reach 200.

Martin Pospisil - 200 Penalty Minutes

Martin Pospisil earned the second most penalty minutes in the NHL in 2024 (146) and has compiled 160 in 102 games. He is just 40 penalty minutes shy of 200, and when he reaches the milestone, he'll be the 84th member of the Flames to achieve it.

Kevin Bahl - 200 Games

Kevin Bahl may only be in his first season with the Flames, but he's about to skate in his 200th game. After 148 games with the New Jersey Devils, he's yet to miss a contest this season.

Matthew Coronato - 100 Games

Matthew Coronato has never played more than 34 games in an NHL season, but with his next skate, he'll be at 35 for the year. If he can keep the ball rolling and skate in 31 more games, he'll reach 100 by season's end. Additionally, Coronato only needs 22 more points to reach 50 in his career.

Dustin Wolf - 100 Games

Even though the Flames have been splitting the starting duties between their two netminders, Dustin Wolf needs to play 18 more games to reach 100. He's also just seven wins away from 50.

By skating in his 100th game, Wolf will become the 15th netminder in Flames history to reach the mark, while his 50th win would place 13th on the team's all-time wins list.

Dan Vladar - 100 Games

Like Wolf, his partner Dan Vladar is closing in on his 100th game, needing only seven more appearances to reach the milestone. Additionally, with 43 career wins, he's just seven away from 50.
