Flames Huberdeau Shatters Personal December Goal Total
Jonathan Huberdeau has been the Calgary Flames' top scorer in December. He's scored seven goals and 13 points in ten games, with two more contests on Sunday and Tuesday.
During his time with the Florida Panthers, Huberdeau had his best statistic December performances, with a career-high 22 points in 2019, followed by 18 (2018) and 15 (2021).

At 13 points in 2024, he's tied with his first season in Calgary, when he scored three goals and had 13 points in 16 games in 2022.
All Huberdeau needs in the two remaining contests against the Vegas Golden Knights and Vancouver Canucks is two points to have one of the top three Decembers of his career.
However, one little tidbit has slipped through the cracks. Ahead of the Flames' game against San Jose on Saturday, Huberdeau was sitting at five goals in the month, the same number he's reached on four occasions.

In 2019, he scored a personal best six goals with the Panthers. But thanks to two lamplighters on Saturday night, Huberdeau has seven goals in December, the most he's ever scored in the month.
Here's a quick breakdown of the most goals he's scored in a single month:
March: Nine (FLA - 2019)
December: Seven (CAL 2024) *Active
April: Seven (FLA - 2022)
February: Seven (FLA - 2021)
September: Seven (FLA - 2019)
January: Six (FLA - 2022)
November: Four (FLA - 2021 & CAL 2024)
Now that Huberdeau has established a new personal best for December, he could record his best goal-scoring month of this career if he manages two or three goals in the next two games.
In a world where everyone says "never say never," it's not a long shot for Huberdeau to get some goals against the Golden Knights (two goals in 17 games) or the Canucks (seven goals in 24 games).
For those wondering what the Flames' record is for most goals scored in December, Lanny McDonald tallied 17 in 14 games in 1982-83. Regarding the team's point record in the year's final month, Johnny Gaudreau had 26 points in 14 games in 2018-19.
