Flames Alumni Continue Classy Christmas Tradition

In case you missed it over the busy Christmas season, the Calgary Flames alumni held their sixth annual toy drive, collecting hundreds of toys for needy kids.

In addition to raising hundreds of thousands of dollars annually through various fundraising initiatives, the Flames Alumni use the yearly toy drive as one of their marquee events.

Thanks to partnerships with Great Clips, the Calgary Police Youth Foundations, Women in Need Society, and Wood's Homes, the Flames Alumni went out on Christmas Eve to hand out toys to needy families.

Several big names from the Flames' past, including Lanny McDonald and Joel Otto, were on hand over the holiday season to collect toys at various locations, including the Saddledome.

Although there are no details on how many toys were collected in 2024, the final numbers don't matter since it's all about getting toys into the hands of kids who don't have the same luxuries as so many.

The Flames Alumni were founded in 1993, and their current roster includes over 150 members. The alumni's other significant events include the Master's golf tournament and the yearly Hockey School.
