In what proved to be a stellar performance from the Reds after a shaky start early on, Liverpool won 3-0 against Bournemouth to put to bed any lingering memories of last week's defeat to Nottingham Forest

Now sitting top of the Premier League ahead of Manchester City's clash against Arsenal tomorrow, Arne Slot's start to the Premier League could not have gone much better, the loss to Forest aside.

Another clean sheet secured

Now with three clean sheets after just four games in the Premier League, the Reds are well on their way to surpassing last season's total of 10, and with Alisson having to miss this game after reports earlier this week of a groin injury, Caoimhin Kelleher can sit back with pride after his first appearance of the season.

It has been the same four defenders who have secured the impressive defensive start, but with Arne Slot's template for defensive stability already proving successful, any changes will have a steady platform to work from.

Liverpool finding their clinical edge?

Despite the Reds having noticeably improved on their wastefulness from last season, today's showing could prove to be the beginning of a new dawn for Liverpool's attackers.

Diogo Jota, generally considered to be the club's most fine-tuned striker was benched this afternoon following a run of below-par performances, meanwhile Darwin Nunez - perhaps the club's most wasteful player - was given the go-ahead and made full use of his opportunity, notching a Liverpool's third with a wonder goal.

Taking 18 shots throughout the game - a total matched by Bournemouth themselves - Liverpool had 13 efforts on target to trouble Kepa Arrizabalaga.

While two of the four big chances were missed, it seems Liverpool's forwards have taken greater care when shooting, ensuring the opposition's goalkeeper has something to deal with at every opportunity.

Trent Alexander-Arnold's wonder stat

Having done most of the hard work for Luis Diaz's second goal of the afternoon, driving through the midfield before slotting a pass through the lines to Diaz to polish off, Trent registered his second assist of the season and subsequently his 100th goal contribution for Liverpool - from right-back.

The assist was his 59th in the league for the Reds, to put him in third for the club in Premier League history - now one ahead of Liverpool legend Steve McManaman.

Konate's playmaking from deep

Alongside being a rock in defence alongside captain Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate put his wand of a right foot to use, making eight accurate long balls in the match.

One of which found Darwin Nunez on his foray down the right flank of the pitch, from which he cut inside against Milos Kerkez and curled one into the bottom left corner - his first Premier League goal since April.

While the team is lacking Joel Matip's runs through the middle of the pitch, Konate is helping van Dijk to assist the forwards.

Luis Diaz - a winger reborn

Despite impressing many when he first arrived at Anfield, Diaz has had a tumultuous time of things, struggling to find any consistency and often wasting chances he'd be expected to put away.

But under the leadership of Arne Slot, it seems the Colombian has finally found his groove, making endless dribbles passed fullbacks and making his opportunities count.

His brace today makes it six goals in eight matches for club and country so far, as he sits 2nd in the Premier League's Golden Boot race.
