When do first College Football Playoff rankings come out?
We’re two months through the 2024 college football season. We’ve seen awesome upsets, weird trick plays and stunning highlights. We’ve seen how the expanded versions of the Power Four conferences can result in fun clashes between marquee brands and odd results. Heisman Trophy frontrunners have emerged, and hot seats have warmed up.
But when, exactly, do those first rankings come out for the College Football Playoff?
The field for the College Football Playoff expanded to 12 teams this season, and we’ve all been anxiously waiting for the first reveal from the selection committee.
Luckily for us, we won’t have to wait much longer.
On Tuesday, November 5 at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN, we’ll get our first look at the playoff selection committee's rankings and an initial projection of the 12-team field.
ESPN will then host shows revealing the rankings for the next four Tuesdays, then reveal the final playoff rankings and bracket on Sunday, December 8 at noon ET.
