Fiorentina have somewhat struggled at the start of this season and the manager Raffaele Palladino is now eager to turn things around. On the eve of the clash against AC Milan, he shared his thoughts during the usual press conference.

Fiorentina have claimed seven points in their first six games (1W, 4D, 1L) and now need to get back to winning ways. However, it won’t be against Milan as Paulo Fonseca’s men finally have found some form, despite the loss against Bayer Leverkusen mid-week.

Speaking at the usual pre-match press conference, as transcribed by TMW, La Viola manager Palladino was asked about the game and what is needed to beat Milan. He admitted that his team will need ‘a perfect game’ to come away with all three points.

What needs to be done to win?

“We know we need to improve many aspects and we are working on it every day. We also need to play a perfect game because we are facing a great team with strong individuals, who beat the Italian champions and played well against Bayer.

“They are a healthy team so we need to take care of all the details and do well in every aspect. I see application, the team is ready to play a perfect evening to make things difficult for Milan.”

What do you fear most about your opponent?

“Milan have found their identity with a good coach and in recent weeks, they have changed their playing system. It seems they have found the right balance and tactical set-up, but we will have to limit their individuality, they have one of the strongest left flanks in the world, strong forwards… We have to do our best to perform and the boys will give it their all to give our fans joy,” he stated.

Kick-off is scheduled for 20:45 and while Milan have struggled at Artemio Franchi in recent history, they won the last fixture there by two goals to one. As for the starting XI, Fonseca is expected to field the strongest one possible.
