After earning a 4-1 victory over the Florida Panthers on Tuesday night, the New Jersey Devils will be back at Amerant Bank Arena tonight in an attempt to take four of a possible four points in back-to-back games against the 2024 Stanley Cup winners.

"That was a great test for our group, and I thought we did a great job," Cotter said Tuesday night. "I am not surprised but pretty satisfied with how we played."

It was a 60-minute team effort that defeated the Panthers, who were on a seven-game winning streak.

"It took a lot of work, a lot of competitiveness, and some resilience," head coach Sheldon Keefe said. "For me, we took a step here tonight, really knowing and feeling of what is required to compete against the league's best."

With 19 games in the books and an 11-6-2 record, the Devils' next step has been something they have struggled with since last season.

Consistency.

"That's the biggest challenge going into the game here tonight," Keefe said Thursday. "Anything can happen once. For us to duplicate the resiliency and the resolve that it takes to find your way through a game like that against a team like this. But also understanding that they are going to be better and we need to be better."

Consistency is not just game to game. It is period to period and shift to shift, and against the Panthers, the Devils can't afford any passengers.

The Devils will look for another win to their record when the puck drops at 7:00 P.M. EST.
