Filip Chytil Making Progress After Injury Scare

Filip Chytil officially resumed skating on Thursday after suffering an upper-body injury during the New York Rangers’ Tuesday night game against the Dallas Stars.

Chytil did not make an appearance in the third period as he was ruled out for the remainder of the game.

It’s unclear when or how Chytil suffered this apparent upper-body injury.

The 25-year-old forward missed practice on Wednesday, but was seen on the ice before New York’s optional skate.

While Peter Laviolette didn’t dive into any specifics regarding Chytil’s condition, he feels the fact he was able to skate is a positive sign.

“It’s great he is out on the ice today,” Laviolette said. “Right now it’s just upper-body, but for me that’s progression. Out on the ice, so that’s a good thing.”

Chytil’s timeline for return is still unknown at the moment.
