FIFA reveal host nations for 2030 and 2034 World Cups

Saudi Arabia have been confirmed as hosts of the 2034 men's World Cup by FIFA.

The online video congress on Wednesday, which included delegates from 211 nations, were informed of the decision by the world football governing body president Gianni Infantino.

In addition, as had long been known, Spain, Portugal and Morocco have also been officially rubberstamped as hosts of the 2030 edition.

To mark the 100th anniversary of the first World Cup, that tournament will also feature a celebratory game apiece in Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay.

FIFA stated in October last year that no competing bids had been made for either tournament.

Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and Paraguay submitted a joint bid two years ago for 2030 before agreeing to host one game each, with Chile ultimately dropping out.

There were also suggestions of a joint Australia and Indonesia effort for 2034 before Saudi Arabia were confirmed as the sole bidder.
