Feyenoord coach responds to Gimenez-Milan links: “If something like this happens”
The Feyenoord head coach has responded to the speculation about Santiago Gimenez leaving, and he certainly didn’t rule out a potential move.
As Calciomercato.com report, Gimenez remains the number one target for Milan before the January window closes but the directors have not yet satisfied Feyenoord’s financial demands.
The Dutch club do not want to lose the Mexican striker in January and will in any case wait for tonight’s Champions League match, but they have set a base price of €40m, plus €3-4m in bonuses.
What that means is they have not closed the door fully to a sale, and a new bid is expected from the Rossoneri, but in the meantime some indication has come from Feyenoord coach Brian Priske.
“I have seen a lot of movement around Santi in recent days. He is a professional, this type of rumour exists in football but we aim to stay focused on our objectives. If something like this happens, in football you have to focus and work,” he said.

The next few hours will therefore be decisive regarding the success of the operation. Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani is working with the help of Rafaele Pimenta to raise the last offer of €27m plus a 10% resale clause.
As a reminder, the 23-year-old striker did a podcast appearance in which he admitted to being ‘wowed’ when he learned of the interest from Milan.
