'He is fearless': Harvey Elliott says Liverpool have a prospect who's 'got everything'

Harvey Elliott believes one of Liverpool’s young prospects has ‘got everything’ to make it at the elite level. Trey Nyoni is making waves in Red.

Liverpool's 1-0 win against Real Betis saw a number of positives but few were as eye-catching as Trey Nyoni. The 17-year-old was fantastic in midfield, leading many to believe he's the next big thing at Anfield.

That's certainly the sense from within. Harvey Elliott made that clear in his interview with the Athletic, where he talked up Nyoni as a real talent to watch.

“Trey has got everything in him,” Elliott says. “He showed it the other night. He is fearless at such a young age. He just needs to keep going and trust the process.

“I’ve spoken to him and the seniors who have been around it a lot longer than I have, they have spoken to him as well."

Elliott has been in that position himself, of course. He was once the massive prospect signed from another club's youth system and tipped to go on to stardom.

He's largely accomplished that, too, even if there's a little way to go just yet before he's fulfilled that potential. Hopefully, he can do just that and help set the example for Nyoni.

Trey Nyoni shines

Liverpool have plenty of fantastic young talents right now - enough so that Arne Slot has reportedly committed to developing them over signing new players. That could turn into a controversial plan, of course.

But there's no question that the future looks bright. Even just in midfield, Stefan Bajcetic and Nyoni look like they could be in and around the squad for a very long time to come. And that's before taking into account that neither Curtis Jones nor Elliott are even close to their 'prime' years.

If Liverpool manage all of this carefully, they could end up with an incredibly special crop of players.
