The Carabao Cup has reached the quarter-final stage with eight teams battling it out for the first silverware of the season.

It’s an all-Premier League quarter-final lineup with the top-flight teams dominating the latter rounds. Liverpool were crowned League Cup winners for a record-extending 10th time last season and remain in the hunt to defend the trophy.

Will the Reds make it another successful trip to Wembley? Or will we see a new name take the trophy? For those interested in the latest odds and first deposit bonus we’ve looked at the favourites to win the Carabao Cup after the quarter-final draw.

The favourites to win the Carabao Cup after the quarter-final draw

Manchester United – 6/1

Manchester United are preparing for a new era after sacking Erik ten Hag this week. Ruud van Nistelrooy has taken over as interim manager and led the side into the Carabao Cup quarter-finals with a 5-2 win over Leicester on Wednesday night.

Ruben Amorim is set to be named as Ten Hag’s replacement and the Sporting Lisbon boss will have a real chance at silverware in the early months of his reign. However, United have been handed a tough test in the last eight with a trip to Tottenham, who eliminated Manchester City in the previous round.

Tottenham Hotspurs – 5/1

Ange Postecoglou has promised he will deliver silverware in his second season, increasing expectation – and pressure – at Tottenham. The Australian is aiming to end the club’s 16-year wait for a major trophy and led Spurs into the quarter-finals with a 2-1 win over Manchester City this week.

Success in this competition will go a long way toward silencing the critics of Tottenham’s early season form in the Premier League.

Newcastle – 9/2

It’s been a long, long wait for Newcastle United.

The Magpies have not won a trophy since the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup in 1968/69 and have not claimed a major prize in England since the 1955 FA Cup. After a runners-up finish in the Carabao Cup in 2023, there is optimism that Eddie Howe can end that wait.

The quarter-final draw has given Newcastle a winnable tie at home to Brentford, having eliminated West London opposition in Chelsea in round four. It’s been a mixed start to the season for Newcastle but a squad containing Alexander Isak and Bruno Guimaraes has the quality to challenge.

Liverpool – 11/4

Liverpool are the holders of his competition after winning a record-extending 10th League Cup last season.

Virgil van Dijk’s extra-time winner handed the Reds the trophy and the final silverware of the Jurgen Klopp era. Now under the management of Arne Slot, the Merseysiders have lost just one of Slot’s 14 games in charge during a seamless transition. A trip to struggling Southampton in the quarter-finals offers a real chance of a semi-final spot.

Arsenal – 5/2

Arsenal are the favourites to win the League Cup despite a disappointing record in this competition. The Gunners have won the trophy just twice previously with the most recent of those coming 32 years ago.

Arsenal, who face Crystal Palace in the quarter-finals, have lost more League Cup finals than any other club; they have been runners-up six times.
