Out-of-favour Barcelona star to be included on pre-season tour of USA

A transfer-linked member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona is set to be afforded a place in the club’s squad for their upcoming tour of the USA.

That’s according to Barca insider Gerard Romero, who points towards Clément Lenglet as the player in question.

Stopper Lenglet has of course been heavily tipped to depart Barcelona once more this summer.

After returning from a largely underwhelming stint in England with Aston Villa, the Frenchman has been deemed surplus to requirements, with his considerable wages further reason for Deco and co. to seek out a sale.

To date, however, such efforts have proven fruitless.

And for this reason, coupled with the ongoing injury woes in Hansi Flick’s squad, Lenglet is set to be part of the Blaugrana’s party bound for the United States.

Flick’s ranks will depart Catalunya’s capital this weekend, to play out a series of high-profile friendly fixtures stateside.

And, as per the aforementioned Gerard Romero:

‘Clement Lenglet will travel with the team to the American tour. The central defender, waiting to resolve his future, joins the expedition.’
