Fantasy Premier League: Four players to keep an eye on in the transfer window

Fantasy Premier League managers are building their squads ahead of the new season, but events in the real world could lead to change.

With the transfer window open until the end of August, some FPL assets could become more appealing depending on events in the transfer market.

We’ve picked out five players to watch in the transfer window, a selection who have been rumoured to be on the move and whose appeal could greatly increase with a change of clubs.

Tino Livramento – Newcastle (£4.5m)

Tino Livramento will not be on the move this summer but exits elsewhere could boost his appeal. Kieran Trippier has been linked with leaving Newcastle this summer and the sale of the England international could open doors for Livramento.

The 21-year-old made 12 league starts last season but might just be a nailed-on starter in Eddie Howe’s side should Trippier depart. At £4.5m, he would be a steal as a fixture in a Newcastle that had the joint-best defensive record in the Premier League as recently as 2022-23.

Fabio Carvalho – Liverpool (£5m)

Fabio Carvalho has returned to Liverpool as somewhat of a forgotten man. The 21-year-old spent last season on loan at RB Leipzig and Hull City, struggling with the former before a productive spell in the Championship.

The midfielder scored nine goals in 20 league appearances for Hull in 2023-24 and netted during Liverpool’s pre-season win over Arsenal this week. Competition is fierce for a place in Arne Slot’s side and should Carvalho leave – either on loan or permanently – for a Premier League rival, his £5m price tag and eye for goal could appeal.

Reiss Nelson – Arsenal (£5m)

Reiss Nelson has informed Arsenal of his desire for a new challenge after failing to break into Mikel Arteta’s plans.

A host of top-flight teams, including West Ham and Crystal Palace, are interested in the winger who could become a popular FPL pick if he can nail down regular minutes. Judging his productivity is difficult given a lack of minutes at Arsenal, but he has averaged a goal or assist every 92 minutes in the Premier League across the last two seasons.

Pedro Neto – Wolves (£6.5m)

Wolves will not want to lose Pedro Neto this summer but England’s elite are circling for the Portugal winger.

Last season, Neto was one of the most productive players in the Premier League with nine goals from 20 league appearances. Only Kevin De Bruyne averaged more assists per 90 (0.74) than Neto (0.53). Should he get a move to one of the Premier League’s more adventurous teams – Spurs have been heavily linked – his numbers could get even better.
