Fantasy football buy low, sell high: 10 risers and fallers for Week 14
With the trade deadline behind us, there are no more opportunities for fantasy football managers to improve their rosters through the fine art of negotiation. However, that doesn't mean we can't still be buying and selling on our own players' values the rest of the way.
When it comes to setting your lineup in pursuit of a fantasy title, you need to be sure you're buying into a player's current level of performance or not.
ON BYE: Baltimore, Denver, Houston, Indianapolis, New England, Washington
Here are some players who are trending upward (or downward) as a result of their performances in Week 13:
Fantasy football players to buy in Week 14
QB Russell Wilson, Pittsburgh Steelers: Wilson rolled up 414 yards with three scores in a wild game at Cincinnati. He has thrown for 264 or more yards in four of his six games, but this is just his second game throwing for three or more TDs.
RB Isaac Guerendo, San Francisco 49ers: With Christian McCaffrey and backup Jordan Mason both headed to injured reserve, Guerendo will take over as the Niners’ lead back for the foreseeable future. The 24-year-old rookie has averaged nearly six yards per carry in limited action so far this season.
WR Parker Washington, Jacksonville Jaguars: Washington showed out with six grabs for 103 yards and a score on 12 targets. He and Brian Thomas Jr. worked well in tandem, developing a nice rapport with QB Mac Jones. The latter was in because Trevor Lawrence was knocked out after a late hit.
WR Adam Thielen, Carolina Panthers: Thielen might have a lot of mileage on the tires, but he looks like he has turned back the clock a bit. He has jelled nicely with QB Bryce Young, and is a solid PPR fantasy option if you need help at that position.
WR Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Tennessee Titans: Westbrook-Ikhine and QB Will Levis were really on the same page Sunday, as the receiver had two more touchdown catches. He has a three-game scoring streak, and at least one TD in seven of the past eight games.
Fantasy football players to sell in Week 14
QB Kirk Cousins, Atlanta Falcons: While coach Raheem Morris stated after Sunday’s game that Cousins won’t be benched, it likely crossed his mind. Cousins was a four-interception disaster against the Chargers, and he hasn't thrown a touchdown pass since Week 9.
RB Aaron Jones, Minnesota Vikings: Jones has been an RB1 for most of his career, but he has recently developed a case of fumblitis. In the past three games, he has put the ball on the ground four times, losing two of them. Coach Kevin O’Connell nailed him to the bench for a good stretch of Week 13 as a result.
RB Kareem Hunt, Kansas City Chiefs: Now that Isiah Pacheco is back from a long-term injury, Hunt will struggle to find carries and touches. He goes from being the primary ball carrier to fighting Samaje Perine for crumbs.
WR Amari Cooper, Buffalo Bills: Cooper started out fine in his Bills debut, and he did miss a little time with an injury. But over his past three games he has been limited to just six catches, 70 yards and eight targets. He has gone from a WR3 to WR4 in fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams.
TE Cade Otton, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: With WR Mike Evans back from his injury, it seems QB Baker Mayfield no longer has eyes for Otton. Formerly the Bucs primary option in the red zone, he's back to being a forgotten man again.
